Raritan Twp:
Local Life Scout Daniel T. Vanacore of Ringoes, belongs to
Boy Scout Troop 194. He will be enhancing SRS's Para Outdoor
Exercise Course for his Eagle Scout Service Project.
Spring Run School is a State of NJ private special education
school serving youth age 13-21 with special needs.
The existing course at SRS has two basic stations and cannot
be used by everyone. Mr. Vanacore is planning to renovate and
extend the existing balance beam, and creating four new
exercise stations to include: New Stretching Station, New
Sit-up & Arm Walk Station, and a New Mulched Trail:
The Life Scout will be seeking donations of cash and supplies
to complete his project and has already received cash
donations from Mavorde Farms and Shields Gymnastics.
Jr Land Inc. will be drilling the holes for this course for
free and Flemington Supply will be donating the galvanized
piping needed for the entire project. Twin Pines Nursery will
be supplying wood chips and a reduced low cost.
This Life Scout has started making the new stations at his
house with the assistance of his two scout brothers Chris
Vanacore, Eagle Scout and Robert Vanacore, First Class Scout.
His father, older scouts and scout parents who are skilled in
carpentry will also be helping and he will be involving
younger scouts to create the mulched trail.
This is Mr. Vanacore's last step in fulfilling all of his
requirements to becoming an Eagle Scout. Completion date is
scheduled for sometime in May weather permitting.
