Raritan Twp:
The Center for Educational Advancement (CEA) received $1,500
from the Magyar Bank Charitable Foundation. A grant proposal
was written to the foundation by Rose Holden Director of
Development & Public Relations.
The money will be used to support the upcoming G.A.L.A.X.Y
Program (Growing Assurance & Life Skills for After School
Xtraordinary Youth). This is an after-school program offered
by Spring Run School (SRS) that will address the needs of
9-18 year old at-risk-youth that have difficulty with peer
pressure, low self-esteem and the complexities of public
school life in middle and high school environments. These are
just a few areas that will be addressed.
CEA mission is to educate, empower, and employ individuals
with special needs. CEA provides jobs, education, and job
training for individuals with physical, emotional, and
developmental disabilities.
Magyar Bank has offices in New Brunswick and Bridgewater.
Their Charitable Foundation's mission supports initiatives
that enhance health and human services and educational
initiatives to the underserved population.
CEA will be holding its 20th Annual Golf Classic on September
12th at the Copper Hill Country Club, in Flemington NJ.
